Parental partnerships/social events

At Sunny Meadows we operate an ‘open door’ policy and we actively encourage parental/carer’s involvement in nursery life. We regularly have parents’ evenings and open days. At these events parents will be able to discuss their child’s nursery experience with key persons and management. After your child’s six weeks at nursery we will send out a settling in report to outline how your child has settled into nursery life. We will also ask you to complete a questionnaire to ensure we are offering the service you require and further questionnaires are carried out on an annual basis. We also hold open days, summer fun days and celebrate festivals together. We will keep you up to date with activities and events with a termly newsletter.

Key person system
Sunny Meadows operates a key person system, which means that one member of staff will take a special interest and develop a close relationship with you and your child. When you first start nursery, your key person will discuss with you your child’s likes and dislikes and any routine your child may have. The key person will be responsible for observing and monitoring your child’s development whilst in the nursery. This will be recorded in your child’s individual development portfolio. These records will be available for you to view at any time and you may make your own comments if you wish. Parents should be confident that any matters discussed with any member of staff would remain confidential, as is our policy. We hold termly parents meetings to discuss how children are developing and how we will be supporting their progress through the next term.
